PTC Timber Sdn. Bhd. (PTC) was incorporated as a private limited company
on 1992. The company, which is situated at Lot 2636, Jalan Balakong, 43200
Cheras, Kajang, Selangor D.E. The
company has been in operation for 17 years. PTC's main business is manufacturing of sawn
timber mainly for the export markets.
Major species processed in PTC are Dark Red Meranti (DRM) and other tropical woods. The sources of raw materials are mainly from Trengganu and Perak's Permanent Reserve Forests. Our volume of production is about 1,000 tonnes per month, and 80% of the monthly volume is for the export markets. Major export destinations include Europe, Middle East, Japan. Due to requests from our European customers, we are now in the process of being certified.
This ‘Procedures for the Keurhout-Legal System("Procedure") is designed for implementation by our company to comply with the additional requirements of the Keurhout(KH)-Legal System for the KH-Legal admitted materials and products. This Procedure will guide the company's employees on the purchase, segregation, processing of KH-Legal admitted materials(logs) as well as on the labeling and sales of KH-Legal admitted materials(logs) as well as on the labeling and sales of KH-Legal admitted products. The procedures on keeping and maintenance of records are also described. This procedure will form an integral part of our company’s Standard Operation Procedures(SOP) in meeting the Malaysian Timber Certification Scheme, MTCS "Requirements for Chain-of-Custody Certification" (RCOC)
In the processing of KH-LEGAL ADMITTED MATERIALS (LOGS) FOR KH-Legal admitted product, the company will implement a physical separation system. Under this system, the company will physically segregate MTCS Certified KH-Legal admitted from non KH-Legal admitted materials during all the phases of transport, production, storage, distribution, sales and exports. Periodically, the company will update this Procedure to reflect the changes being made to comply the Keurhout requirements.
